About Me

Hi, I’m Emanuelito (Eman) Tomas, a Registered Nurse and Mental Health Therapist. I’m passionate about creating a space where people feel safe, supported, and genuinely understood—especially during the moments in life that feel overwhelming, painful, or uncertain.

I am a Registered Nurse licensed in Alberta and British Columbia, with national certification in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing through the Canadian Nurses Association. I also have specialized training in crisis intervention and suicide prevention.

Over the past seven years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting people facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, addiction, grief, emotional crises, life transitions, and thoughts of suicide. Through this work, I’ve learned that healing doesn’t start with having all the answers. It often begins with having a space where you can be honest about what you’re going through and feel supported without judgment.

My goal is to offer that kind of space: one where you can talk openly, make sense of difficult emotions, and move toward the life you want for yourself. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply needing support, I’ll meet you where you are and walk alongside you at your own pace.

I believe people are often stronger and more resilient than they realize. Sometimes, we just need a safe place and the right support to reconnect with those strengths.

My Approach to Therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, practical, and tailored to you. I draw from evidence-based approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and supportive psychotherapy, adapting our work to what feels most helpful for your unique needs and goals.

Together, we may focus on learning new coping skills, managing difficult emotions, exploring patterns that may be keeping you stuck, or a combination of these. I may also share tools, resources, or simple practices between sessions to help you apply what you’re learning in your daily life. My goal is to help you build skills and self-understanding that support you long after therapy ends.

As a Registered Nurse, I am committed to providing care that is respectful, ethical, and confidential. I value and celebrate diversity, and I recognize that your culture, identity, experiences, and beliefs are important parts of who you are. I strive to create a safe, inclusive space where you feel heard, respected, and supported.

Above all, I want therapy to be a place where you can take a breath, be yourself, and know that you don’t have to face life’s challenges alone.
